Ok, so after a few a few weeks of grinding level 60, I decided to try out the game as another class, except this time I knew what was coming and it made progression so damn easy. I’d like to lay out a few guidelines for people to remember when trying to gear out their lower level characters.
- + damage on rings and amulets is OP, try to find stuff with these stats on it.
- Maxing your primary stat (dex/str/int) is an extremely effective method for getting dps. Save up gems of the appropriate type and buy socketable gear at level 15. Always get gear with your primary stat maxed (sockets included), so dont forget to check the AH for blues as well as yellows, there are a lot of good blues for sale sometimes.
- Only get socketable weapons from levels 15-45, always put a high level ruby in them.
- A high level ruby in your helm will help you exp much faster.
- Once you hit level 46, if you saved up a decent amount of cash, you should look for level 60, reduced level requirement by 14 gear. Start with weapons, my monk has a pair of 700 dps one handers to throw on as soon as he dings level 46.
- This will up his overall dps to over 10,000 at level 46, this is insane, the rest of the game will be a cake walk. I’ll admit these cost me a pretty penny (700k each), but they will have good resell value when I ding 60. You can probably pickup 300-400 dps one handers for 100-200k gold or so. Save your money for these if you can.
- Once you get to act 2 nightmare, you can run act 2 quest 2 repeatedly to power level your character to 46, equip your super twink gear, and steam roll everything to inferno mode act 1.
Well, this is how to power through the game (and to level 60) without taking advantage of broken game mechanics, exploits, and it can be done solo.
